The Prevailing Winds

When setting a course that will generate a successful outcome it is helpful to know which way the wind is blowing. This wind-knowing helps us to understand what is happening, particularly when circumstances begin to shift and change or feel chaotic. It provides valuable insight about the predominant energy so that we can respond in ways that support our overall intention or goal.

The 12th century Hermetic teaching “as above so below, as within so without”[1] may have a helpful perspective about our current windy conditions. This teaching asks us to consider life from a larger perspective and to see the dynamic interconnectedness between all of life. As ancient teachings and now quantum physics has revealed, everything is reflected in everything else. We live in a universe whose parts are not separate.

Using this perspective we can look above to the stars to be the mirror for the evolutionary progression of our consciousness as a planetary collective on Earth. Current astrological energy signatures are activating themes around social justice, community and collaboration. The growing momentum is stimulating the desire to transform what is not working, expand perspectives, and explore innovation. We are being prodded to wake up and take charge. The symptom of seeming chaos is a reflection of our disharmony. When things feel out of balance it is time to reevaluate beliefs, reconsider choices and redirect energy. It is a choice point. Chaos can lead us to transform what is and what has been to create something new, harmonious, and magnificent.

The influence of this pattern of energies encourage us to question old beliefs and reveal false premises, to open to new awareness, consider new ideas and to seek truth. We are seeing that answers and solutions to promote positive change may come in surprising packages. Personal responsibility and standing in our own power is highlighted and encouraged. And if we don’t know what that feels like, or have lost that connection somewhere along the way it is a good time to recover this birthright.

A balancing of energy polarities is also underway. All living systems continually seek balance. This dance of dynamic equilibrium, maintaining balance between internal conditions and the fluctuating external environment, is a self-regulating process that maintains stability and optimal conditions for survival. The polarity of Masculine/Yang energy and Feminine/Yin energy form two halves of a complementary, interconnected whole. When there is an over expression of one energy natural order will activate a rebalancing and recalibrating to bring that system back into holistic balance.

We are all expressions of both Yin and Yang energy. External and internal circumstances are now prompting and inspiring us to expand our connection to Feminine/Yin energy. Our Feminine/Yin energy encourages us to go within to explore our inner landscape and is friendly with feelings and intuition. Our Yin energy is the doorway to inspiration, imagination, creativity and the ability to see beyond what is. Feminine energy is inclusive and helps us to see ways to connect and unify versus separating. This energy works from the perspective of cooperation versus competition, and seeks power with versus power over, which supports creative collaboration.

When we are out of balance with our Feminine/Yin energy we can feel anxious, overwhelmed, overly controlling, aggressive, critical, judgmental and have a hard time relaxing. Yin energy has the ability to go with the flow, to be receptive to new ideas and to adapt to circumstances with creative solutions. It can see beyond what is and what has been and vision a new possibility.

How can we work with these energies? We can each look within and ask:

• What is calling for rebalancing in my life?

• What is my relationship to my Feminine/Yin energy?

• Where can I pioneer a new path?

• How do I express my creativity?

We are birthing a new reality. What will you choose yours to be? Being aware of the prevailing winds allows understanding of the larger landscape of events and experiences. Feminine energy is leading the way and is enhanced by the driving forces of our cosmic weather which supports opening hearts, choosing a higher vision, seeking innovation, collaborative problem solving and taking action personally and as a global community. The directive is for inner growth and transformation individually and collectively in order to create a balanced, harmonious, mutually beneficial experience for everyone.
